
Ashworth College is an online career training college that offers over 100 online degree programs. Ashworth is accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council, which is a recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education. Ashworth College is also authorized by the Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission to grant career diplomas, associate's degrees, bachelor's degrees, and master's degrees.
Ashworth College programs are designed with the busy student in mind. Students can choose to attend either part-time or full-time, schedule permitting. Since coursework can be completed on the student's time, they are able to continue other commitments such as work, family, and extracurricular activities. Coursework can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection and is available 24 hours a day seven days a week.
Programs at Ashworth College include forensic science, business administration, fitness and exercise, computer networking, computer security, computer programming, construction management, criminal justice, floral design, fashion retailing, graphic design, gunsmithing, health care administration, HVAC, hotel and restaurant management, and human resource management. In all there are over 100 programs to choose from.
The fashion retailing program is a diploma program that is broken down into 17 separate lessons. The lessons include Introduction to Fashion Merchandising, What Is Fashion, Consumer Behavior, Store Organization and Management, The Buyer's Job, Merchandising Pricing, Advertising and Promotion, Store Layout and Visual Merchandising, Fashion Direction and Research, preparing a Fashion Show, Executing and Evaluating a Fashion Show, The Marketplace, Direct Retailing, Franchising, Personal Shopping, Loss Prevention, Inventory Control, and Customer Service and Credit.
Course materials include a customized lesson plan book, study guides, personal fashion manual, time management guide, franchising guide, and career search guide. At the end of each lesson students take online open book exams before advancing to the next lesson. Students have access to instructor assistance, tutoring, and online student support.
